How we ship a real website in a day

Most website projects don't run late because the work is hard. They run late because the scope quietly triples between the first message and the first line of code. "Can we also add…" is where months go to die.

So we do the opposite. We find the handful of things the site actually has to do, build those properly, and get it live - usually within a day. Everything else goes on a list and waits its turn.

Here's what that day actually looks like.

First, we figure out the job. For most small businesses it's not complicated: tell people who you are, show your work, list what you do, and make it dead easy to book or get in touch. That's the spine of it. If you take bookings or enquiries, that goes in too - a real form, feeding a real inbox, not a "mailto" link from 2009.

Then we build from what's already out there. Your Instagram, your Google listing, whatever site you've currently got - that's the raw material. Real photos, real services, your actual town and hours. We're not inventing a business, we're presenting the one you already run, properly.

By this point there's a working site on a live link. Not a picture of a site - the site, on the internet, that you can open on your phone. We look at it, tighten the wording, fix the bits that read as generic, make sure it works as well with a thumb on a bus as it does on a laptop.

That's the version we send you. And this is the important part: the day-one site isn't meant to be final. It's meant to be real. The point is to get something true in front of you fast, so the conversation is about your actual site instead of a hypothetical one.

From there it's changes-by-asking. Want the hero photo swapped, the colours warmer, an FAQ section, your prices added? You tell us, we do it, it's included. No change requests filed in triplicate, no hourly meter running.

What we deliberately don't do is chase infinite scope on day one. If you need something genuinely bespoke - custom booking logic, customer logins, an integration with a system you already run - that's real work and we'll be straight with you about it. But the standard site, the one that covers what most small businesses actually need, is a day.

And once it's live, we host it, keep it running, and look after it. You don't touch a dashboard unless you want to. The duck watches the deploy so you don't have to.
